Eng. Hassan El-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, honored Mr. Hossam Heiba, former Chief Executive Officer of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), on the occasion of the conclusion of his term in office. The ceremony was held in the presence of Eng. Mohamed El-Gawasski, the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of GAFI, as well as senior officials from the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, and heads of affiliated authorities.
During the event, Eng. Hassan El-Khatib expressed his sincere appreciation to Mr. Hossam Heiba, affirming that he exerted dedicated and sincere efforts throughout his tenure, made significant contributions to resolving investors’ challenges, removing obstacles facing investment, and advancing digital transformation initiatives within the Authority.
The Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade emphasized that the Authority is currently witnessing a civilized and orderly leadership transition in the presence of both former and current leadership, reflecting a spirit of cooperation and a shared commitment to building upon previous efforts and continuing the reform process undertaken over the past period.
El-Khatib further noted that several key files will be pursued by Eng. Mohamed El-Gawasski during the coming period to continue the reform agenda, stressing that he will closely follow the daily operations of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, as well as proposed initiatives aimed at enhancing its performance.
For his part, Mr. Hossam Heiba expressed his pride in this recognition, affirming that the achievements realized during his tenure were the result of collective efforts and continuous cooperation among the Authority’s teams and all relevant stakeholders. He also wished continued success and prosperity for the Authority in the coming phase.
In turn, Eng. Mohamed El-Gawasski, Chief Executive Officer of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, affirmed his commitment to continuing efforts of reform, development, and modernization within the Authority, cooperating closely with all employees, and listening to all proposals aimed at improving the work system.
This recognition comes within the framework of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade’s commitment to honoring leadership figures who have played an effective role in advancing economic development goals and enhancing Egypt’s business and investment climate.
