Eng. Hassan El-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, begins today an extensive field tour in the governorates of Luxor and Qena, as part of inspection visits aimed at monitoring the implementation status of investment projects and supporting industrial investment in Upper Egypt.
The Minister’s tour includes expanded meetings with investors in both governorates, in addition to field visits to a number of factories and major industrial projects, to review progress on the ground and discuss ways to enhance their productive and export capacities.
The Minister is accompanied during the visit by Eng. Abdel Mottaleb Emara, Governor of Luxor; Dr. Khaled Abdel Halim, Governor of Qena; Eng. Mohamed El-Gawasski, Chief Executive Officer of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI); and a number of senior officials from the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.
The visit aims to discuss mechanisms for supporting national industry, encouraging local products, enhancing their competitiveness in international markets, and stimulating investment by following up on the implementation status of ongoing projects and removing all obstacles facing investors.
The tour also seeks to stimulate the export ecosystem and activate the role of regions within the export-oriented production system, in line with the state’s plan to increase exports.
In this context, Eng. Hassan El-Khatib stated that the visit comes as part of the Ministry’s policy of direct engagement with investors on the ground.
The Minister said: “We are working intensively to take all necessary measures and actions to support local investors and provide a conducive environment for industrial growth, driven by our firm belief that national industry is the true engine of sustainable economic development.”
He added that the Ministry places special emphasis on Upper Egypt governorates, with the aim of transforming them into strong investment hubs that contribute to job creation and support the national economy.
