The Export Development Law enacted by Law No. 155 of 2002

The Importers Register Law No. 121 of 1982 is the principal legislation governing the importation of goods for trading purposes. The Law requires importers to be registered at a special register maintained by the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC), with a view to ensuring market discipline and regulating import activities. It also prescribes specific conditions and requirements for registration at such register.
