- We are accelerating the digitalization of incorporation, licensing, and business start-up procedures to strengthen confidence in the business environment.
As part of the ongoing efforts of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade (MIFT) to strengthen Egypt’s position as an investment destination amid rapid global developments, Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade (MIFT Minister), granted eight (8) Golden Licenses to Egyptian, Arab, and foreign projects in the energy, transport, manufacturing, logistics, and food sectors. The projects represent total foreign currency investments of USD 1.2 billion and local investments of approximately EGP 16 billion.
The Golden License is a comprehensive approval granted to investors for incorporating, operating, and managing projects, eliminating the need to obtain multiple approvals from different authorities. The State issues a comprehensive license encompassing project incorporation, construction permits, operating licenses, and land allocation, and such license is issued within 20 working days upon submission of complete documentation.
The ceremony was attended by Major General Yasser Abbas, Deputy CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), and Mr. Mohamed Ayad, Advisor to MIFT, along with a group of investors.
Dr. Farid, MIFT Minister, emphasized that granting Golden Licenses to some projects reflects the State’s commitment to accelerating investment, improving the efficiency and attractiveness of the business environment, and strengthening investor confidence in the Egyptian economy to support sustainable growth.
He added that attracting investments in vital sectors such as energy, transport, manufacturing, and logistics highlights Egypt’s ability to draw high-quality projects that contribute to increased production, exports, and job opportunities.
Moreover, the Minister noted that MIFT is working to fully digitalize licensing procedures to reduce processing times and eliminate bureaucracy, supporting Egypt’s transformation into a regional hub for industrial innovation and advanced logistics services, in line with the recent efforts, including the launch of GAFI’s e-licensing platform.
