Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, MIFT Minister, held a meeting with Dr. Abdel Aziz El-Sharif, Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS), to discuss the operating mechanisms of ECS system and its commercial offices. The Minister emphasized the importance of intensifying the promotional efforts of commercial offices to attract more foreign investment to Egypt across various sectors, with a focus on investments that support deeper local manufacturing and create job opportunities in the Egyptian market, as well as export-oriented investments that use Egypt as a production and export base.

He also called for focusing on opportunities arising from global economic developments and foreign investment flows to attract additional investments into the Egyptian market, particularly for establishing production bases aimed at exporting to foreign markets, especially African markets.

The Minister further emphasized the importance of ensuring that commercial representatives in host countries study all aspects of each market to identify available opportunities that can be exploited to attract foreign investment or enhance Egyptian exports to those countries. This is aimed at maximizing the benefit of the commercial offices’ presence worldwide.

On his part, Dr. Abdel Aziz El-Sharif, Head of ECS, reviewed the methodology employed by the commercial offices to open new markets for Egyptian exports, and the export and investment sectors targeted by each office.
