FRA Honors Dr. Saleh for Leadership Before Assuming Investment Portfolio

The Board of Directors of the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA BoD) honored Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade (MIFT Minister) and former Chairman of FRA, in recognition of his outstanding contributions during his tenure from 2022 to 2026. The BoD presented him with the FRA plaque as a tribute to his distinguished career marked by dedication and achievement.

Dr. Saleh expressed his sincere appreciation for this kind gesture, noting that the accomplishments achieved reflect collective effort and close collaboration among all FRA staff. He emphasized the importance of continuing institutional development to ensure the sustainability of these achievements and to strengthen FRA’s role as a cornerstone for financial and economic stability in Egypt.

During the ceremony, FRA BoD members highlighted Dr. Saleh’s pivotal role in advancing the non-banking financial sector, praising his strategic vision, which focused on modernizing regulatory frameworks, enhancing professional capacity across activities, embedding governance and compliance principles, and improving supervisory and oversight effectiveness—all contributing to market stability and the protection of stakeholders’ rights.

The BoD members noted that under his leadership, FRA oversaw the issuance of the law regulating fintech use in non-banking financial activities, the adoption of regulatory frameworks for new financial instruments including derivatives, contributing to product diversification and deepening the capital market. His tenure also witnessed the revitalization and development of investment funds, including the launch and regulation of gold investment funds. These initiatives provided citizens with more diverse savings and investment options and enhanced liquidity management in the market.

FRA BoD also commended the positive outcomes achieved in key areas, including accelerating digital transformation, developing FRA’s technological infrastructure, adopting sustainability and green finance standards, and updating sector legislation to keep pace with global economic developments. These efforts helped boost investor confidence and strengthen Egypt’s position as a leading regional hub for non-banking financial activities.

The ceremony was attended by FRA Vice Chairmen Mr. Mohamed El-Sayyad and Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz; Central Bank of Egypt Deputy Governor Mr. Tarek El-Khouly; FRA BoD members: Dr. Ashraf El-Araby, Dr. Rasha Ragheb, Mr. Tarek Mansour, Dr. Marianne Azer; and  Dr. Khaled Serry Siam, as well as assistants to FRA Chairman: Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aziz, Counsellor Ahmed Shatta, Mr. Walid Anwar, Mr. Hamdy Badawy, and Mr. Mahmoud Gebril.
