In line with the State’s efforts to attract advanced industrial investments with high added value to the Egyptian market, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, met with Mr. Arian Kai, Chief Executive Officer of Himile Group, a leading Chinese company in the tire manufacturing industry. The meeting reviewed the Group’s plans to establish a new factory in Egypt for the production of tire molds and industrial components, positioning the facility as a regional hub for manufacturing and export to global markets. The meeting was also attended by Ms. Tracy Liu, Marketing Director of the company.
The discussions outlined key features of the Group’s proposed project in the Egyptian market, which includes the establishment of an advanced production line for tire molds, with foreign direct investment estimated at USD 100 million in its first phase, covering an area of 100,000 square meters. The project is expected to create between 1,000 and 2,000 new job opportunities, utilizing the company’s advanced, environmentally sustainable technologies.
According to the project timeline, formal establishment is targeted during the first half of 2026. The facility is intended to serve as a strategic export hub for markets in the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas, while also meeting domestic market needs, thereby reinforcing Egypt’s position as a regional center for automotive feeder industries.
The Minister affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to providing full support to the Group, particularly with regard to land allocation and the facilitation of procedures, alongside continuous follow-up to ensure smooth implementation. He emphasized that this comes within the context of the major industrial expansion currently taking place in Egypt, which contributes to strengthening the integration of industrial value chains.
Dr. Farid also noted that discussions covered opportunities to deepen supply chains and enhance local industrial integration, particularly in sectors such as wind energy and marine engineering, in line with the State’s strategy to increase the share of renewable energy in the national energy mix.
He further highlighted the importance of investing in technical training and vocational qualification to support the project, noting the Government’s readiness to coordinate with relevant entities to provide specialized training programs. This will ensure the development of a skilled Egyptian workforce capable of adopting advanced technologies and facilitating the transfer of industrial expertise.
On his part, Mr. Arian Kai expressed his appreciation for cooperation with the Egyptian Government, affirming that the company seeks, through its project in Egypt, to establish an industrial base serving regional and global markets. He added that the company employs more than 30,000 people worldwide and operates across multiple international markets, including the United States, Thailand, Hungary, India, Brazil, Vietnam, Mexico, and Cambodia.
Ms. Tracy Liu, Marketing Director, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to transferring technical expertise and modern technology to Egypt, as well as training local labor, thereby supporting industrial localization and strengthening strategic partnership between both sides.
Officials of the Group also noted that the company operates across several advanced engineering and industrial equipment sectors and expressed readiness to explore additional investment opportunities in Egypt, subject to government interest in specific sectors, while maintaining direct communication channels with the Group’s headquarters in China to identify priority projects.
