In continuation of the series of meetings held in the course of chairing the Egyptian-Belarusian Joint Committee convening in the Belarusian capital Minsk, Dr. Mohamed Farid, Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade (MIFT Minister), held a meeting with the leadership of the Development Bank of Belarus, to explore ways of enhancing economic, investment and financial cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting addressed the discussion of available financing mechanisms for joint projects, and ways of supporting the Belarusian investments in Egypt and the Egyptian investments in Belarus, in addition to exploring ways to establish effective cooperation between financial institutions and capital markets in the two countries, thereby contributing to providing a more favorable and sustainable investment and industrial partnerships.
Dr. Farid affirmed during the meeting the importance of deepening economic relations between Egypt and Belarus, noting Egypt's promising investment environment and strong competitive advantages for attracting investments in vital sectors, among them manufacturing industries, heavy equipment, and transport. He also emphasized the importance of enhancing institutional cooperation with banks, financing institutions, and investment banks, in addition to exploring opportunities for cooperation in the Egyptian capital market.
On their part, the officials of the Development Bank of Belarus expressed their welcome of enhanced cooperation with Egypt, affirming the Bank's readiness to provide the necessary financing facilities to support joint projects, in addition to supporting technology transfer and the exchange of expertise between both sides.
This meeting forms part of a series of meetings held by MIFT Minister with senior officials, financing institutions, and companies in Belarus, with the aim of opening new horizons for cooperation, diversifying international economic partnerships, and enhancing the volume of trade and investment exchange between the two countries.
