All customs ports will operate normally on Thursday, 19 March, with the holiday limited to the first and second days of Eid and operations resuming from the third day.
Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh:
- Coordination with all relevant entities to maintain uninterrupted supply and value chains.
- All necessary measures taken to ensure the customs clearance system continues to operate efficiently.
As part of implementing the State’s directives to enhance the efficiency of foreign trade and ensure the sustainable flow of goods through Egyptian ports, Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade (MIFT Minister), directed to take all the necessary measures to ensure the customs clearance system continues operating at high efficiency during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday.
MIFT Minister explained that this step comes in implementation of the circular issued by the Council of Ministers, which aims to prevent import and export activities from being affected by official holidays.
He added that, according to the circular, full operations will continue at all customs ports on Thursday, 19 March, 2026. The holiday will be limited to the first and second days of Eid for all entities involved in clearance procedures, including the Customs Authority, banks, and relevant regulatory entities.
Dr. Saleh stated “Work within the customs clearance system will resume starting from the third day of Eid Al-Fitr, supported by continuous and real-time coordination with all entities involved to address any challenges that may face the business community during this period.”
Moreover, the Minister emphasized that maintaining regular customs clearance during official holidays is a key pillar for ensuring market stability and avoiding supply chain bottlenecks that could affect final consumer prices. He stressed that MIFT places the interests of consumers and support for national industry at the forefront of its priorities by continuously working to reduce clearance times and logistics costs, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy.
