The Arab Trade Ministers’ Coordination Meeting in Preparation for the 14th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization
The Arab Trade Ministers’ Coordination Meeting is a consultative meeting held among trade ministers of the Arab countries with the aim of coordinating Arab positions and unifying visions regarding the issues on the agenda of the World Trade Organization (WTO), in preparation for WTO's ministerial conferences and meetings. The meeting seeks to strengthen Arab cooperation and support the economic and trade interests of Arab countries within the multilateral trading system.
Overview
MIFT Minister further reaffirmed Egypt’s consistent position in supporting the right of the State of Palestine, as well as the Arab League, to obtain observer status within the WTO and all its bodies. He also highlighted the importance of accelerating the accession of remaining Arab countries to the WTO, and presented a key proposal calling for the inclusion of the Arabic language as one of WTO’s official languages, contributing to deeper integration of Arab economies into the rules-based global trading system.
