The Launch of the 8th Session of the Egyptian-Belarusian Joint Committee.

The 8th Session of the Egyptian–Belarusian Joint Committee serves as a governmental framework for economic coordination between the Arab Republic of Egypt and Belarus. It aims to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, and industry, while advancing bilateral relations from traditional trade exchange toward integrated industrial and productive partnerships based on joint manufacturing and technology localization.

Overview

Overview Opening Remarks Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade (MIFT) and Head of the Egyptian Side of the Joint Committee. H.E. Mr. Artur Karpovich, Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of Belarus and Head of the Belarusian Side. Proceedings of the 8th Session of the Egyptian–Belarusian Joint Trade Committee Held in the Belarusian capital, Minsk, the event served as a pivotal strategic platform to advance economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries, while elevating bilateral relations from the framework of traditional trade exchange toward genuine industrial integration and technology localization. The discussions built upon the outcomes of the technical experts’ meetings and the Joint Business Council to strengthen communication channels between the business communities of both countries. The event also highlighted the competitive advantages and promising export opportunities available to both sides, with particular emphasis on Egypt’s position as a strategic gateway to Arab, African, and global markets, supported by free trade agreements as well as institutional and legislative reforms aimed at improving the business environment. In his remarks, Dr. Mohamed Farid, MIFT Minister, stated that both countries possess strong political will, reinforced by the momentum generated through the mutual presidential visits, to translate their longstanding historical ties into an integrated industrial partnership. He noted that the current volume of bilateral trade — approximately USD 60 million in 2025 — does not reflect the true potential of both sides. The Minister called on Belarusian companies to expand into the Egyptian market through qualitative production and investment partnerships, taking advantage of streamlined incorporation procedures and investment incentives designed to reduce the time and cost of starting business operations. The Minister further explained that the shared future vision is based on three main pillars. The first focuses on "Food Security and Agricultural Mechanization" through the establishment of assembly and manufacturing lines for tractors and trucks in Egypt using Belarusian technology to serve both domestic and regional markets. The second pillar targets the "pharmaceutical industry" by strengthening cooperation in the production of human and veterinary medicines and developing a joint pharmaceutical manufacturing zone in Egypt to meet the needs of African markets. The third pillar focuses on the "Tourism Sector" to enhance mutual tourism flows, particularly in light of Egypt’s well-established status as a preferred destination for Belarusian tourists. Key Sectors: Industrial Integration and Technology Localization Agricultural Mechanization and Food Security Joint Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Exports and Bilateral Trade Exchange Key Speakers and Participants: Members of the Egyptian–Belarusian Joint Business Council and representatives of major investment and production companies from both sides.
