General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC)

The General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) was established under the Presidential Decree No. 1770 of 1971 to provide technical support and facilitate the work of exporters, ensuring the global competitiveness of Egyptian exports while protecting local markets from the import of goods that do not meet the required standards. 

GOEIC is a service-oriented and executive organization specializing in control and qualitative inspection of certain industrial exports, as well as industrial and non-industrial imports. It also conducts contract sample testing for goods and operates an extensive network of accredited laboratories across all sectors, covering all the ports in Egypt. 

GOEIC Key Activities:  

  • Issuing pre-shipment inspection certificates for consignments and exported goods in accordance with international standard (ISO/IEC 17020:2012).  
  • Issuing conformity certificates for goods and consignments according to (ISO/IEC 17065:2012).  
  • Issuing certificates of origin for locally manufactured products destined for countries with which Egypt has trade agreements, under which Egypt enjoys preferential treatment.  
  • Carrying out verification and authentication of carbon emission measurements across all establishments to confirm that the Egyptian exports meet the international standards.  
  • Performing advanced quality and proficiency testing (PT) for industrial, chemical, and food goods.  
  • Issuing registers of exporters, importers, agents, brokers, real estate intermediaries, and scientific and consultancy offices.  
  • Preparing non-oil foreign trade statistics in coordination with relevant authorities.  
  • Providing a comprehensive set of specialized training programs and courses in various fields, aligned with global developments, to support exports and local industries.
