The Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS) is the main pillar of Egypt’s economic diplomacy and a key driver of the global competitiveness of the national economy. It works to enable Egyptian exporters to effectively access international markets, attract foreign investments that support national development plans, rationalize imports, and maximize their benefit for local industry and production. It also represents Egypt in economic and trade organizations and in international trade negotiations with its partners, while strengthening Egypt’s economic presence abroad through highly efficient institutional performance and dynamic economic and trade diplomacy that supports sustainable development goals. 

ESC Objectives: 

• Increase Egyptian exports of goods and services and open new markets to support the balance of payments and economic growth.  
• Enhance the international competitiveness of the Egyptian economy through effective promotion and information support.  
• Attract value-added foreign investments that contribute to technology transfer and provision of job opportunities. 
• Protect and develop Egypt’s economic interests abroad at bilateral and multilateral levels.  
• Promote the integration of the Egyptian economy into the global economy through trade agreements and partnerships.  
• Contribute to achieving trade balance by rationalizing imports and encouraging local manufacturing.  
• Create a favorable international trade environment by defending Egypt’s interests in international organizations. 
• Support decision-makers by providing accurate and up-to-date reports and analyses of global markets.  

ECS plays a pivotal role in supporting and implementing the objectives of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development “Egypt Vision 2030”, and the objectives outlined in the National Narrative for Economic Development. This is achieved through the efforts of commercial representation offices in opening new markets for Egyptian exports across various goods and services sectors, maximizing the benefits of existing markets by providing additional export opportunities for Egyptian companies, and enhancing the access of national products to those markets. In addition, commercial representation offices play an active role in promoting investment opportunities across the Arab Republic of Egypt and attracting foreign investments in priority sectors. This directly contributes to supporting economic growth rates, increasing production, enhancing the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy, creating new job opportunities, and improving income levels, thereby supporting the achievement of comprehensive sustainable development.
